I wanted to tell the story of chef Massimo Bottura and his role in saving the Northern Italian cheese industry after the violent earthquakes of 2012 through this infographic.

INSPIRATION

It?s a dish he devised after the earthquakes that devastated the Emilia-Romagna region in May 2012. “I made it as a social gesture,” he told us, “something that featured the flavors of the region affected by the earthquake, including rice, as well as some of the nearly 1,000 wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano that were damaged?we wanted to create a dish that would utilize them.”

MOOD AND STYLE

I was inspired by clean swiss style graphic design. I wanted to explore the strong and clean use of color and shape to bring out the hierarchy and build compositions.

SKETCHES

I tried to emulate a clean and precise visual style in my ideation and sketching process. I created simple and minimal graphical elements to visually present the information.
